Industrial Counter Sales

Description The Industrial Counter Sales Associate supports daily branch operations by providing exceptional customer service, processing counter and phone/electronic sales, handling inventory, and preparing products for delivery or shipment. This role operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented industrial distribution environment. Salary Salary: $21 - $25 Hourly Primary Responsibilities Deliver high-quality customer service while adhering to company ethics and standards. Respond promptly to customer inquiries, orders, and complaints using effective problem-solving skills. Provide accurate product and technical information to support customer needs. Process sales transactions and maintain accurate documentation and records. Estimate delivery timelines based on inventory levels, supplier availability, and production schedules. Conduct outbound follow-ups with potential and existing customers via phone and email. Receive, inspect, and stock incoming products; ensure accuracy and quality. Pick, package, stage, and ship products using company-approved methods and carriers. Support inventory management, including cycle counts and quality control. Perform assembly and light fabrication work, including hose building and operation of related equipment. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment in compliance with safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Participate in required training and collaborate with internal teams as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education & Work Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in industrial distribution or hydraulic hose and fittings preferred (Parker Hannifin experience a plus). Mechanical aptitude and forklift certification preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities can be achieved through a combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Good customer service and communication skills are required. Basic computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus. The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide required. Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. Must be a good listener with above average reasoning ability and make minimal mistakes. Must be a good learner who can assimilate product knowledge and skills as they are presented. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and customer service Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities. Physical Demands And Work Environment The essential functions of this position will require the employee to perform the following physical activities: Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook); Epicor Prophet 21 experience a plus. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Ability to learn and apply product knowledge effectively. Comfortable with working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with diverse teams. Regular, on-site attendance required.
