Our litigators regularly appear in state and federal trial and appellate courts and before administrative agencies throughout California. The Role: We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join our team of dedicated school advocates (at any of our four offices). You will take ownership of complex cases at the forefront of education law, with early courtroom opportunities and direct client relationships. If you have 5+ years of litigation experience and are a member of the California Bar, we want to hear from you. What You Will Do: Manage your own caseload with substantial client contact and courtroom time. Draft dispositive motions, writs, and appellate briefs, often on issues of first impression. Take and defend depositions and lead discovery in state and federal court and in administrative proceedings. Try cases and argue motions as first- or second-chair, with support from experienced partners. Advise charter school and private school clients directly on litigation strategy and risk. Qualifications: Active membership, in good standing, in the State Bar of California. 5+ years of civil litigation experience in state or federal court. Proficiency in drafting complex pleadings and conducting legal research and analysis. Experience taking and defending depositions and managing discovery in high-stakes actions. Detail-oriented and strategic thinker, with a strong commitment to representing our clients diligently. Preferred, but not required: experience in education, employment, or public entity law; appellate or writ practice; trial or arbitration experience; or a judicial clerkship.
