About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of MS and inpatient hematology oncology experience required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification required. Must-Have: Experience with hematology oncology, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Description: This position involves caring for patients undergoing bone marrow transplants and receiving chemotherapy. Candidates must possess strong skills in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing. Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias is essential. The role includes responsibilities such as blood product administration and central line management. Candidates should be proficient in chemotherapy administration and management of various lines. A thorough understanding of patient diagnoses, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia and multiple myeloma, is crucial. Heavy emphasis is placed on infection prevention protocols and patient safety. Candidates will work with interdisciplinary support and must demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills. A focus on patient education and advocacy is required in this role. The position requires flexibility in scheduling based on unit needs. Compliance with established health and safety protocols is mandatory. Documentation in computerized charting systems is an essential duty of this role. Candidates must maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical standards in nursing practice.
