Position SummaryThe Banquet Captain is responsible for leading banquet service staff and ensuring the seamless execution of events in accordance with Greensboro Country Club's service standards. This role serves as the on-site service leader during events, coordinating staff, communicating with management, and delivering an exceptional experience for members and guests.Reports ToBanquet ManagerClubhouse ManagerEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise banquet service staff during events, including setup, service, and breakdownAct as the primary point of contact on the floor during assigned eventsEnsure all food and beverage service meets Club standards for quality, presentation, and timingAssign staff positions and responsibilities based on event needs and staffing levelsCommunicate clearly with the Banquet Manager, Clubhouse Manager, culinary team, and event contactsMonitor event flow and proactively address guest needs or service issuesEnforce service procedures, safety standards, and Club policiesTrain, coach, and support banquet staff to maintain consistent service excellenceMaintain a calm, professional presence during fast-paced or high-pressure eventsAssist with inventory awareness, equipment handling, and proper care of Club propertyQualifications & SkillsPrevious banquet or hospitality leadership experience preferredStrong knowledge of food and beverage service standardsExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse teamCalm and professional demeanor in fast-paced environmentsStrong attention to detail and commitment to service excellenceFlexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 30 poundsHigh School diploma or equivalentWork Environment & Physical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, bending, and liftingExposure to kitchen and service environmentsAbility to work extended hours based on event schedulesAdditional ExpectationsUphold Greensboro Country Club's values, service culture, and professional appearance standardsServe as a role model for teamwork, accountability, and member-focused service
