Speech Therapist - Speech Therapy - Per Diem 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

Overview To develop and implement speech pathology services and direct patient care in coordination with the rehabilitation team, complying with organizational goals and regulatory agencies. Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech Pathology, the role provides services for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with varied diagnoses. Responsibilities Initiate care upon patient referral, managing all aspects of speech pathology intervention. Consistently complete required documentation per departmental policy. Participate in clinics, rounds, and patient conferences as assigned, contributing to continuity of care. Lead conferences to facilitate process, improve communication, and increase effectiveness and efficiency. Manage a full patient caseload, ensuring documentation, communication, and departmental efficiency. Precept students, Clinical Fellows, and new staff. Attend at least one professional meeting per year and provide coverage at least one weekend per month. Qualifications Master's degree in Communication Disorders satisfying American Speech and Hearing Association academic and practicum requirements for Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP). Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word and Internet utilization. Preferred Qualifications 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting. Licenses & Certifications Speech Language Pathologist – SLP (California DCA) with current California license. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association. Fire Life Safety Training (Los Angeles City); if no card upon hire, must obtain within 30 days and maintain renewal before expiration. Compensation Hourly rate range: $46.00 – $76.07.
