Position Summary: The Clinical Coordinator coordinates and manages all clinical rotations, placements and credentialing aspects of this role. The Clinical Coordinator provides support for the Director, Undergraduate Chair, Office Manager, Faculty and Students of the School of Nursing. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred, prior experience in clinical setting preferred. Must have knowledge that includes an understanding of the educational objectives and experiences of student nurses, an understanding of the clinical practice of nursing, knowledge of the diverse organizational environments in which nurses practice, and knowledge of the types of clinical sites needed to meet course content and objectives. Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Clinical Coordinator works closely and collaborates with the Director of Operations, nursing school Director, Chairs, and Coordinators. The Clinical Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Operations for the Mary Inez Grindle School of Nursing. Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration. Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement when necessary. Build and maintain relationships with schools and departments across the Ivester College of Health Sciences, external partners, and vendors. Coordination and planning in all aspects of the clinical phase of Nursing programs. Clinical Coordinator collaborates with the Director, Chair, support coordinators of Clinical Education and academic faculty to understand clinical education standards, and to evaluate and facilitate development of clinical education sites and clinical adjunct faculty. Clinical Coordinator performs all other duties as directed by the Director of Operations, nursing school Director, Chairs, and Coordinators, the Dean of the Ivester College of Health Sciences, the Brenau University Provost, and the Brenau University President or designee. Administrative Duties: Work closely with the clinical team, clinical coordinators, site coordinators, and clinical preceptors and/or administrators to facilitate clinical practice experiences for all students at multiple sites. Coordinate site visits and review student progress during the clinical phase of the program. Manage ACEMAPP or other designated clinical tracking software and develop methods of assessing the clinical phase of the program as part of ongoing self‑assessment. Assist with long‑range planning. Prepare materials for periodic program reviews, accreditation reports, and other external reviews. Use the University’s Learning Management System ( e.g., Canvas) and other university/program management platforms. Assist the Director of Operations with the development, implementation, and documentation of assessments of clinical curriculum and student /program outcomes in accordance with the accrediting Standards. Assist the Director of Operations to facilitate curricular enhancement and implement curricular improvements and innovation, as appropriate, including methods of assessing the effectiveness of the changes. Work with the Director of Operations with the onboarding, orientation and coordination of payment to clinical adjuncts and/or clinical preceptors, as per University, College and departmental policies. Assist with the onboarding, orientation and coordination of clinical adjuncts and/or clinical preceptors, as per university, college and departmental policies. Assist with the onboarding, orientation and coordination of clinical support staff. Assist the clinical support staff to ensure that all adjuncts and students are prepared and ready for their clinical experience. Assist with the development, maintenance, and regulation of systems to monitor and document the progress of each student during the clinical phase of the program that will allow for prompt identification of deficiencies in knowledge or skills and establish a means for remediation. Assist with the updating of the program’s materials in the student handbook and policies. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, nursing school Director and Chairs. Participate in planned recruiting activities and student retention activities. Service: Participate in accreditation reviews and visits. Attend and appropriately contribute to University, Ivester College of Health Sciences, and departmental staff meetings. Participate in the development, revision, and updating of mission statements and curriculum materials. Participate in the student admissions process. Community Relations Within and Outside of Brenau: Represent the department within the Brenau community through committee service, attendance at University-sponsored events, and the establishment of collegial relationships with other staff as well as faculty and administrators. Represent the University to the community in a professional and positive way through volunteer service, participation in community events, and professional affiliations. Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities required. Work Hours: Full‑time. 37.5 hours per week. Generally, Monday‑Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department. Nights/weekends as needed. Environmental and Working Conditions/ Physical Demands and Aptitudes: Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must have the ability to travel short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Campus Designation: This is an on‑site position based at the Historic Gainesville Campus located in Gainesville, Georgia. Remote Work Available: No Travel Requirements: Minimal local travel and operation of a university vehicle and/or one’s own vehicle required. Some travel between the Gainesville and Norcross campuses. Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid Georgia driver’s license, and good driving record. Special Requirements: Brenau University conducts various screenings to ensure a safe and secure environment. These checks are a condition of employment and may be performed at different times throughout employment. (1) Background Checks: All new hires must undergo a criminal background check. To maintain employment, individuals must have and maintain a favorable criminal history. The university may also conduct random background checks. Additional checks may be performed for certain roles. (2) Credit Checks: required for positions that handle university funds or credit cards or as otherwise required. (3) Motor Vehicle and Driving Checks: employees who operate a university vehicle or drive on university business must have a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) run as part of the new hire process or as the requirement to drive is added to job responsibilities. To be approved for university travel, employees must meet the following criteria: be at least 21 years old, have and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license, and have and maintain a good driving record. As a condition of employment, employees must report any arrest (within five days of its occurrence) to the Office of Human Resources, including traffic violations for those listed on our auto insurance policy. Disclosure of subsequent legal action (conviction, dismissal of charges, etc.) must also be reported to the Office of Human Resources. It will be evaluated considering continued employment with the immediate supervisor. (4) Drug Screening: pre‑employment/post‑offer drug screens and random drug screens are performed for certain sensitive positions. Random drug screens are also performed on those who travel regularly, or those who operate a university vehicle. All employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening. Additional Requirements: N/A Licensure Requirements: Proof of any professional degree, license, or certification (collectively, “Credentials”) required to competently perform the work for which the employee is hired must have been submitted at the time of application for the position.
