Program Manager

Program Manager – Responsibilities Apply project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of complex projects and programs to meet requirements and deliver the end result. Manage overall planning, control, status reporting, stability, and delivery of assigned projects and programs. Indirectly manage related projects within programs that are overseen by other project managers, ensuring dependencies are aligned for program success. Lead, build, inspire, and develop global project teams and hold each member accountable for their deliverables. Develop and maintain RACI charts for owned programs and projects. Conduct active portfolio management, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate with other functions for resource planning, upfront commitment, and project requirements. Manage project scope, change requests, risks, and deviations, reporting them to stakeholders. Identify risks and generate alternative mitigation plans across business functions. Ensure adherence to governance gates and project‑practice standards. Develop and maintain budgets and schedules, updating them on a weekly basis. Consult with business and PMO resources as a subject‑matter expert. Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to all relevant stakeholders and decision bodies early. Facilitate root‑cause analysis and lessons‑learned sessions post‑project. Identify, develop, and implement standard approaches, improving project‑management tools and methodologies. Facilitate financial reviews with finance to ensure full cost management and reporting. Establish executive scorecards for each owned project. Lead cross‑functional groups to develop yearly project budgets, accounting for costs across program and project phases. Facilitate steering‑team meetings, leading discussions and administering meeting agendas. Program Manager – Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten (10+) years of professional project‑management experience in new product development, testing, manufacturing, or related areas. Experience planning project budgets, monitoring costs, establishing realistic timelines, creating work‑breakdown structures, managing stakeholders, and mitigating risks. Background leading projects for outdoor power equipment, consumer goods, or product and process improvement initiatives. Experience leading multicultural, hybrid teams. Professional project‑management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred. Experience with stage‑gate project planning and change‑management processes preferred. Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and to identify process gaps. Strong command of project‑management processes, tools, and techniques; ability to set clear goals and produce positive results. Ability to manage project/program‑level issues proactively and to recognize when escalation is required. Monitoring of geopolitical risks impacting current and upcoming programs and projects. Track record of managing multiple complex projects concurrently. Deep understanding of phased‑gate development, work‑breakdown structures, and critical‑path analysis. Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project; ability to create dashboards and concise status reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to professionally represent project status to steering teams. Strong time‑management, follow‑up, detail‑orientation, and multi‑priority skills. Strong initiative, self‑direction, problem‑solving, analytical, teamwork, interpersonal, and adaptability skills. Willingness to work extended hours due to alternate time zones, including overtime and weekends; ability to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.
