Personal Financial Counselor, PFC-Fort Lee, VA

Responsibilities Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. Offer comprehensive personal financial counseling to service members and their families, including one‑on‑one sessions, briefings, presentations, and referrals. Collaborate with installation and branch Points of Contact to ensure the program meets installation needs and stays within scope. Assist service members in developing spending plans for extended absences. Create and distribute informational financial materials. Coordinate and promote a variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle (e.g., first duty station, deployment, personal and career events). Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling and other electronic communication modes such as web‑based secure chat and video teleconferencing, where authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office. Manage duty‑to‑warn situations in accordance with DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing information on trends and issues. Engage in regular in‑services training, quality improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned. Perform any other duties assigned as part of the role. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; an associate degree with 4 years of experience or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience may be considered. At least 3 years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizenship and fluency in English; bilingual English/Spanish required if specified by contract. Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation. Compliance with the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process. Certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Benefits Salary range: $58,440 - $93,500 (adjusted based on experience, education, and job‑related factors). The position may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, life, and voluntary benefits.
