Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Legal Collections Specialist to join our client in a role that supports key business operations and contributes to important organizational initiatives. This Direct Hire opportunity is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL and offers a Remote work arrangement. The individual in this position will play an important role in managing accounts receivable activities, maintaining healthy cash flow, and supporting the resolution of outstanding balances. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple business functions to drive timely payment outcomes.
Compensation:
$60,000 - $70,000/year
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, normal business hours (EST)
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Collections Specialist:

• Oversee collection efforts for outstanding receivables by engaging with external parties and promoting timely account resolution.
• Analyze aging and receivable data to identify payment trends, monitor account activity, and support informed decision making.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address billing questions, payment disputes, and account status updates.
• Maintain accurate documentation of outreach efforts, correspondence, and collection outcomes while ensuring proper recordkeeping.
• Facilitate account reconciliation activities, monitor ongoing resolution processes, and process approved balance adjustments when authorized.

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of professional experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable within a law firm environment.
• Knowledge of legal billing practices and experience managing outstanding client balances and payment follow up activities.
• Prior experience working with billing or financial management software; familiarity with industry specific platforms is preferred.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to review reports, track account activity, and prioritize workload effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across multiple business functions.
