Job Summary

We are seeking a responsible, organized, and proactive individual to serve as a direct assistant to the owner. This role supports daily restaurant operations, food preparation, inventory control, purchasing, and menu development.

This is a hybrid position combining kitchen and administrative responsibilities.

ResponsibilitiesOperations & Administration

• Communicate with suppliers
• Purchase food and cleaning supplies
• Manage and maintain inventory
• Use Excel, Word, and email
• Assist with production planning

Note: Production planning mainly applies during:

• Valentine’s Day season
• Mother’s Day season
• Catering and special events

Cost Control

• Calculate food cost per dish
• Ensure menu pricing aligns with costs
• Control waste

Kitchen & Preparation

• General food preparation
• Cut and season meats (chicken, beef, etc.)
• Prepare sauces (garlic, pineapple, pink sauce, guacamole, chimichurri)
• Prepare burger patties
• Make empanadas (beef, chicken, ham & cheese, cheese & corn)

Creativity & Development

• Develop new seasonal menu items
• Contribute ideas based on Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine

Operational Support

• Cover kitchen positions when needed
• Fill in during staff vacations
• Support special events

Standards

• Maintain cleanliness and organization
• Follow restaurant standards
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude

⚠️ Requirements

• Previous kitchen experience
• Strong knowledge of Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine (REQUIRED)
• Experience preparing traditional dishes and sauces
• Experience with empanadas and meat preparation
• Basic English communication skills required
• Organized and responsible
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to multitask
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, email)
