The Barista is responsible for creating an exceptional coffee experience for every guest through high-quality beverages, friendly service, and genuine hospitality. This role prepares and serves coffee and other beverages while helping customers navigate the menu, making thoughtful recommendations, and creating a welcoming environment. Successful Baristas are dependable, detail-oriented, passionate about coffee, and enjoy connecting with people. They take pride in beverage quality, cleanliness, and creating a consistently great experience for every guest. This position is located at one of our Atlanta-area coffee bars. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Take customer orders accurately, including preferences, modifications, and allergy considerations.
• Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, tea, and other drinks according to Galia recipes and quality standards.
• Educate customers about menu offerings and make recommendations based on their preferences.
• Promote featured beverages, seasonal offerings, and food items.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting coffee bar throughout the day.
• Restock coffee, food, cups, supplies, and other products as needed.
• Follow opening, closing, cleaning, and daily operating procedures.
• Properly clean and care for espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment.
• Identify equipment or maintenance concerns and communicate issues promptly.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health requirements.
• Monitor product quality and freshness and help minimize unnecessary waste.
• Communicate customer feedback, product needs, and operational concerns to management.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to provide efficient service and a positive customer experience.
• Represent Galia Coffee Company with professionalism, positivity, and a commitment to exceptional hospitality.

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous barista, café, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with commercial espresso equipment is a plus.
• Passion for coffee, hospitality, and providing an excellent customer experience.
• Friendly and professional communication skills.
• Ability to learn beverage recipes, menu offerings, and coffee preparation standards.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Availability to work early morning shifts, Monday through Friday.
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain if required.
