Hearing Technician - Albany

Salary: $18.00/hr – $23.00/hr Responsibilities Administer diagnostic audiological tests (audiometric evaluations, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions, stapedial acoustic reflex testing) for adults and children. Obtain and assist with New York State hearing aid trainee license, including hearing aid testing, selection, fitting, and patient counseling. Provide amplification services: real‑ear measurements, live speech mapping, hearing aid dispensing, renewal, repairs, cleaning, and follow‑up. Consult with physicians and other providers, coordinate care, and offer recommendations for hearing and vestibular disorders. Perform and program cochlear implants, Baha, and Osia devices; provide recipient orientation. Participate in specialized testing: VNG, VEMP, NBHS, neurodiagnostic and sedated ABR, and other vestibular evaluations. Complete chart notes and manage office procedures with guidance from department audiologists. Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and provide excellent customer service. Qualifications Current Au.D. student at an accredited institution. Ability to organize time, prioritize duties, and manage frequent interruptions. Strong interpersonal skills with a caring, respectful approach toward patients. Physical Demands and Work Environment Full‑time position. Requires sitting, using hands, bending, reaching, twisting, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and walking throughout the day.
