Residential Care Specialist - Full Time 7:00am-7:30pm

Position Details HAVENWYCK HOSPITAL (a UHS facility) – Full Time (40 hrs/week) 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission‑accredited psychiatric hospital located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, specializing in behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults. Position Summary The Residential Care Specialist (RCS) performs routine residential care duties and selected non‑professional services under the supervision of the Director of Residential Services, Program Manager, and RCS Supervisor. Duties include creating a safe and therapeutic environment, caring for children/adolescents, observing resident behavior and mental status, providing activity of daily living support, encouraging independent behavior, and supporting admissions, discharges, transfers, and individualized care plans. Duties and Responsibilities Follow instructions from Program Director/RCS Supervisor as outlined in policies and procedures. Provide care to child/adolescent (9‑18) in a manner that considers safety, residents’ rights, comfort, level of development, and the therapeutic environment. Assist with admission, discharge, and transfer of residents. Assist with resident trips outside the center, transporting residents in the hospital van as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer a minimum of two years of college in areas of psychology, social work, mental health, or related fields. Experience dealing with emotionally disturbed individuals preferred. Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.
