This position provides professional learning opportunities for staff, collaborates with teachers on the implementation of functional behavior plans, and works directly with students and families to address behavioral concerns and promote positive outcomes. This position offers valuable experience and skill development for individuals interested in pursuing future administrative roles. Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned Collaborate with instructional staff to assess, support, and improve student behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health outcomes Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and interpret behavioral data to identify student needs and inform intervention planning Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate individual behavior intervention plans to support student success Coordinate and facilitate Check-In/Check-Out and other Tier 2 behavioral interventions within the MTSS framework Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels Lead Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavior team meetings, utilizing behavioral and intervention data to guide decision-making and student support planning Coordinate PBIS acknowledgment systems and recognition events that reinforce positive student behavior Design and deliver professional learning opportunities for staff focused on behavior management, PBIS, MTSS best practices, restorative practices, and evidence-based interventions Coach and support teachers in implementing restorative practices, trauma-informed approaches, and effective classroom behavior management strategies Collaborate with IEP teams and other student support teams to develop and implement behavioral supports for students with identified needs Provide direct behavioral intervention and support to students experiencing behavioral, social-emotional, attendance, or disciplinary concerns Communicate and collaborate with parents and guardians regarding student behavior concerns, intervention strategies, and disciplinary matters Facilitate meetings with students, families, and staff to identify barriers to success and develop strategies for improvement Serve as a liaison between school staff and families to support consistent behavioral expectations and interventions across school and home settings Maintain documentation related to behavior interventions, disciplinary actions, family communication, and student support plans Collaborate with counselors, social workers, administrators, and community agencies as appropriate to support student success Commitment to regular and predictable attendance Adherence to Greenville Public Schools core values: integrity, collaboration, compassion, and responsibility Qualification Requirements Knowledge in evidence-based behavioral strategies and ability to implement them effectively for students and with staff Demonstrated ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving behavior Ability to use data as a basis for informing decisions Capacity to lead professional learning for staff in both group and individual settings Knowledge of MTSS framework, including instruction and intervention, data and assessment, evidence-based practices, problem solving, and stakeholder involvement Knowledge of universal screening and progress monitoring Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) trained, or willingness to complete training Satisfactory background check Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Licenses, Registrations and Certifications Valid Michigan teaching certificate Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. Employees will occasionally kneel, squat, and stoop while interacting with students. Employees will use their hands to handle, control, grasp, move, and feel documents and office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to reach above head and shoulder level. Occasionally required to carry, lift, and move up to 25 pounds and provide proper crisis intervention as needed. In-person work is required. Other Skills and Abilities Communication: The employee must have clear speaking and sufficient hearing to communicate effectively and appropriately in person and on the telephone. Ability to write business correspondence in a professional manner. Ability to present information to small and large groups. Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to use good judgment in making decisions. Interpersonal: Maintain and encourage a safe environment for all students, staff, and the community. Effective organizational skills. Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to be flexible in dealing with staff, students, parents, and the community. Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, dependability, honesty, and self-motivation while performing the duties of the position. Exhibits a positive image as a representative of the school district. Mathematics: Ability to perform basic math computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Environmental: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is exposed to infections at a greater risk than the average person. The employee must be able to work under fluorescent lighting. The employee may be required to be outdoors for a short period of time, and is therefore subject to varying weather conditions.
