Sr Mobile Diesel Mechanic Tuesday - Saturday

Shift Tuesdays – Saturdays About the Role The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. They act as a consultant on customer sites and lead mobile diesel technicians. Duties Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutch, differentials, etc.). Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutch, differentials, etc. Inspect, test, and use diagnostic instruments to identify malfunctions. Road test vehicles to confirm proper operation. Identify problems and evaluate alternative solutions using judgment. Manage parts inventory, reconcile company‑issued equipment. Maintain, operate and pre/post‑trip inspect company‑issued service vehicle. Work with clients to assess needs, provide assistance and resolve issues. Prioritize assigned tasks and allocate time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks. Document work on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation. Work independently, manage daily schedule. Maintain productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed. Communicate with management via email or phone for repair estimates and purchase orders. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Requirements High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related experience (alternatives: degree/certification beyond HS diploma/GED with 3 years, or 7 years experience). Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Obtain 608/609 certification within 18 months. Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical; a valid DOT medical card with ≥4 months remaining may replace the physical. Must be 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority regulations. Valid state driver’s license and ability to maintain a Driver Qualification File. Compensation Hourly pay range: $32.26 – $48.41 per hour. Base rate may vary by location and candidate qualifications.
