Who We Serve North Bay Regional Center serves over 13,000 people living within the geographic boundaries of Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. North Bay Regional Center provides advocacy, services, support, and care coordination to children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. We partner with community-based organizations and agencies to empower our clients to thrive and live as independently as possible within the geographically, culturally, and ethnically diverse communities we serve. North Bay Regional Center is a nonprofit private corporation which contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. At NBRC, we’re promoting opportunities by supporting choices for people with developmental disabilities. DEFINITION: The NBRC Training Supervisor develops and manages the design, development and delivery of NBRC’s training and orientation programs to prepare and equip employees to meet the needs of the agency, and ultimately, individuals served. This position will also work with subject matter experts to ensure employees receive the training and development necessary to excel in their current and future roles. Specifically, this role, the NBRC Training Supervisor will: Oversee New Employee Orientation (NEO), onboarding, and training. Train employees in new and/or updated internal policies and procedures. Ensure effective curriculum design, development, and delivery. Oversee and administer the Learning Management System (LMS). Participate in the statewide Training & Information Group (TIG). Support conferences, events, and other skill development activities. Participate in community outreach events. Supervise individuals in the Training Unit. Work with the Policy and Procedures Committee to develop and maintain updated training materials NATURE OF WORK: Under the direction of the Director of Administrative Services , provides supervision to the NBRC Training Unit. Oversees assessment and monitoring of current employees’ skills and training needs. Designs, implements, conducts, and evaluates employee training and development programs to prepare employees to meet the needs of NBRC and individuals served. Ensures current training information is easily available and publicised to employees. Continuously evaluates existing training programs and courses for effectiveness. Develops and oversees catalog of available courses and annual calendar. Participates in meetings and conferences for information relevant to training needs and development. Provides external training and community involvement. Requirements MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, social work, psychology, organizational development, adult learning, communication, education, human resources, public administration, or business administration, or other related field. Experience Must have at least 3 (three) years’ experience relevant to human services settings providing effective trainings to others. Two years in a relevant professional position at North Bay Regional Center, which included developing and leading training sessions to employees. Minimum experience qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities). Minimum education requirements may not be waived. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Experience developing, analyzing, delivering, and measuring classroom and online instructional training programs. Sound case management experience working with a variety of clients across age-ranges. Demonstrated increasing level of responsibilities during employment, including supervising others. Ability to read, understand, and interpret legislation and regulations as they relate to the development, implementation, and evaluation of services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Advanced skills in using common office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated critical thinking ability and innovative problem-solver. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours. Must be able to regularly travel to all NBRC offices within catchment area to provide employee training as well as support and oversight to assigned staff member(s). Must be able to occasionally travel to attend meetings outside of catchment area, including occasional overnight travel to attend statewide meetings. If operating own vehicle, provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law. Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency. This position will be primarily based in the office, however, a hybrid work arrangement may also be available. Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable and may be required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assess and monitor current employees’ skills and training needs. Design, implement, deliver, and evaluate employee training and development programs, including management training programs, which prepare employees to meet the needs of individuals served by NBRC. Develop, deliver and maintain trainings (and supporting materials) based on individual positions and NBRC-wide needs, using a variety of media and mediums. Supervise individuals in the Training Unit, including the Training Specialist. Develop, implement, deliver, and maintain an effective New Employee Orientation and onboarding process to ensure new hires receive effective training and support at beginning of employment. Develop and deliver supervisor training and materials. Provide training on changes in policies, procedures, regulations, technology, or other NBRC initiatives as determined by self, or directed by Executive Management. Develop, implement, deliver, and provide trainings to vendors, community members, and individuals served by NBRC. Prepare and implement a record-keeping system for maintaining accurate and complete tracking of trainings, attendance dates, participants, and other relevant information. Other duties as assigned.
