Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a 26-bed acute care unit specializing in general surgery and trauma. This unit primarily cares for post-surgical patients, with a focus on high-quality patient care and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, primarily consisting of post-surgical trauma patients.
Monitor patients using cardiac monitoring, capnography, and continuous pulse oximetry.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective patient care.
Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery plans.

Shift Details

Night shifts (4x12-hour shifts)
36 or 48 hours per week
Every other weekend and holiday commitment required
Work two out of three winter holidays

Qualifications

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Experience in acute care, particularly in surgical or trauma settings.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred, but not required.
Must be familiar with Epic electronic health record system.
Ability to adhere to float policy as required.

Additional Information

Time off can be approved for up to 40 hours. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed. This opportunity is for a 13-week assignment.
