This role oversees plumbing rough-in work for a commercial project in Allentown, focusing on PVC and PEX systems. You will lead and perform hands-on installation of underground storm, sanitation, and water piping, ensuring accurate layout, measurement, and testing according to blueprints and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee rough-in plumbing work using PVC and PEX piping for a commercial project.
• Review and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine required materials, equipment, and the sequence of pipe installation.
• Plan and install piping around structural and mechanical obstructions while maintaining code compliance and system integrity.
• Install and extend underground storm, sanitation, and water piping systems in both interior and exterior areas.
• Cut, fit, and assemble pipes to precise measurements to ensure proper alignment and secure connections.
• Test piping systems using water and air pressure to verify integrity, balance, and accuracy of installations.
• Cut openings in walls, floors, and other building elements to accommodate pipe and pipefitting while maintaining structural safety.
• Perform excavation and trenching as needed for the installation and laying of underground pipes.
• Use appropriate hand tools and supplied power tools safely and efficiently for all phases of rough-in work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all site safety requirements and wearing required PPE at all times.
• Coordinate with other trades and team members to sequence work efficiently and minimize rework or delays.
• Communicate progress, issues, and material needs clearly to supervisors and project stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• At least 2+ years of in-field experience performing plumbing rough-ins with PVC and PEX piping.
• Demonstrated experience with underground plumbing systems, including storm, sanitation, and water lines.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings for plumbing installations.
• Ability to plan and execute pipe installation sequences around structural and mechanical obstructions.
• Strong skills in cutting, fitting, and assembling PVC and PEX piping to precise measurements.
• Experience testing piping systems with water and air pressure to confirm system performance and integrity.
• Capability to perform excavation and laying of underground pipes safely and accurately.
• Physical ability to perform all job duties in a multi-story environment without elevator access, including frequent use of stairwells.
• Ownership of appropriate hand tools required for plumbing rough-in work.
• Ownership of required PPE, including hard hat, high-visibility vest, gloves, safety glasses, work boots, and work pants.
• Experience with commercial and residential plumbing environments.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with piping and plumbing systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of plumbing experience performing rough-ins with PVC and PEX is strongly preferred.
• Experience working on both interior and exterior plumbing projects, including underground construction.
• Background in commercial and residential plumbing installation and repair.
• Comfort working with a variety of plumbing tools and equipment, including both hand tools and power tools supplied on site.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team, taking initiative to solve problems on site.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, code-compliant installations.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Media, PA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
