(Senior) Underwriter Construction and Power - Latin America and Caribbean (all gender) Full-Time What you'll be doing Underwrite construction, infrastructure, CAR/EAR, CECR risks and IAR power risks, while developing and managing your own portfolio in line with Helvetia Group underwriting directives and strategy. Assess technical and insurance risks with confidence, curiosity, and a strong commercial mindset. Ensure underwriting information is recorded accurately, transparently, and with the high level of quality our clients and partners expect. Negotiate tailored terms and conditions with brokers and clients, building solutions that balance opportunity, risk, and long-term partnership. Develop a strong understanding of our business provider network and contribute to trusted, sustainable relationships in the market. Represent Helvetia in client and broker meetings, including site visits where your technical perspective adds real value. Work closely with our claim's experts on large and complex cases, sharing insights that support excellent service and sound underwriting decisions. What you'll bring to the role A university degree in engineering, law, business, insurance, or a comparable commercial qualification. Solid professional experience in underwriting, claims, loss adjusting, insurance, or a related field, and the motivation to grow into a construction / power underwriting specialist or senior expert role. A solid understanding of the construction, infrastructure and power sectors, with an interest in complex projects and evolving market dynamics. A proactive mindset, high-quality standards, and the drive to tackle challenging risks with ownership and passion. The ability to build reliable partnerships across teams and with external stakeholders, working together to achieve shared goals.
