Field Service Engineer

Field Service Engineer - Medical Devices 

Location: Atlanta, GA | Northeast Atlanta | North Georgia Territory
Compensation: Target Base Salary $75,000 + Overtime + Annual Bonus
Travel: Local and Regional Travel Required | Occasional Overnight Travel
On-Call: Rotating Weekend Coverage
Company Vehicle, Tools & Equipment Provided

What You'll Do

• Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair sterilization systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document service activities.
• Respond to customer service requests, including emergency service calls.
• Diagnose equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with Sales, Clinical Education, and Technical Service teams to support customer success.
• Manage all service responsibilities within your assigned territory.
• Maintain accurate records and daily activity updates within the Service Management System (Siebel).
• Process RMA returns and manage field parts inventory.
• Maintain and audit personal trunk stock inventory.
• Communicate proactively with customers to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
• Support beta installations, product upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide guidance and technical support to hospital Biomedical Engineers and other service personnel.
• Complete required training and certification programs within established timelines.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 3 years of related technical support, customer support, or field service experience; OR
• Associate Degree plus 3 years of related experience.
• Minimum 2 years of customer-facing service experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned region.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree in:
  • Electronics
  • Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Biomedical Technology
  • Related Technical Field
• 3+ years of Field Service experience in:
  • Medical Devices
  • Healthcare Equipment
  • Electronics
  • Industrial Equipment
• Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) experience.
• Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments.
• Experience using service management systems such as Siebel.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds to a height of four feet.
• Ability to drive for extended periods.
• Frequent standing, bending, and stooping.
• Occasional air travel as needed.

Work Environment

• Approximately 90% customer-facing work within hospitals and surgery centers.
• Approximately 10% home office administrative work.
• Compliance with all customer safety, security, and infection-control protocols.
• Participation in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.
