Child Care Infant Teacher – Early Childhood Education

Our client is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Teacher to join a high-quality early childhood education program in Vermont. As the Lead Teacher, you will guide classroom operations, mentor teaching staff, and create a nurturing environment where children can thrive socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS)
• Create engaging learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and growth
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
• Supervise children and ensure compliance with licensing regulations and classroom ratios
• Lead and support assistant teachers and classroom staff
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Monitor and document children's developmental progress
• Support positive behavior guidance and social-emotional learning
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements

Qualifications

• Experience working in an early childhood education setting
• Strong leadership and classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education
• Ability to work collaboratively with families and team members
• Passion for creating engaging learning environments for young children

Physical Requirements

• Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
