Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Class A Maintenance Technician for our client. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This position will provide mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic support to minimize downtime, improve production efficiency, and ensure safe and reliable plant operations.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and restore machinery to operation with minimal disruption to production.
• Inspect machinery and equipment for wear, defects, and potential issues.
• Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machine components.
• Assist with installing and repairing electrical systems, wiring, transformers, and electronic components.
• Install, maintain, and repair piping, hydraulic systems, pneumatic equipment, valves, gauges, and pressure regulators.
• Operate tools and equipment, including forklifts, lifts, saws, drills, grinders, and welding equipment, following safety procedures.
• Fabricate and repair machine parts, jigs, fixtures, tools, and facility structures as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance, complete work orders, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Coordinate with production supervisors, operators, and maintenance team members to resolve equipment issues and complete scheduled maintenance.
• Perform minor facility repairs, including plumbing, HVAC, doors, windows, walls, and floors.
• Respond to maintenance requests and assist with equipment troubleshooting alongside original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and increase operational efficiency.
• Maintain clean, organized equipment and work areas while following food safety, 5S, and safety requirements.
• Assist with training team members and provide technical support when needed.

What Are the Requirements of the Job?

• Minimum of 3 years of related manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Associate degree or technical school education preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Knowledge of utility systems, including electrical, water, air, and HVAC.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English, including maintenance instructions, safety procedures, and technical documents.
• Basic mathematical skills, including calculations involving proportions, area, circumference, volume, algebra, and geometry.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification through required training.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lead a maintenance crew and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to complete required training and assist with training other team members.
• Ability to work overtime when necessary and maintain reliable attendance.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks for at least 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs. and lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to push, pull, climb, balance, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to handle tools, equipment, and components.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring close, color, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and non-climate-controlled manufacturing environments.
• Ability to follow safety procedures when working around moving machinery, electrical current, and heavy mechanical parts.
• Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and ear protection when required.
