Portfolio Management Team Lead

Our client, a community bank in New Jersey, is looking for a Portfolio Management Team Lead. This person will be overseeing the bank's commercial loan portfolio, including CRE, C&I and SBA loans. Key Responsibilities Oversee the administration and ongoing management of a diversified commercial loan portfolio, including commercial real estate, commercial and industrial lending, SBA lending, and other business banking relationships Manage portfolio performance by monitoring borrower financials, covenant compliance, annual reviews, and overall credit quality across assigned relationships Identify portfolio trends, industry concentrations, and emerging credit risks, and provide recommendations to reduce exposure and strengthen overall portfolio performance Lead and support a team of commercial portfolio professionals by providing guidance, training, and oversight on underwriting, portfolio management, and credit administration responsibilities Work closely with commercial lenders and relationship managers to support client needs, maintain strong credit quality, and ensure effective servicing of existing and prospective borrowing relationships Assist with complex credit situations including renewals, modifications, restructures, and problem loan management when needed Support internal audits, external reviews, and regulatory examinations by ensuring complete and accurate documentation and responding to information requests in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all internal credit policies, lending procedures, and applicable state and federal banking regulations Qualifications Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess financial information, identify risk trends, and make sound credit recommendations Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across lending, credit, and operations teams Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience Minimum of 7 years of experience within commercial banking, credit administration, or commercial portfolio management Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to mentor and manage team performance Strong understanding of commercial lending practices, credit policy, loan structuring, and portfolio risk management Experience with commercial real estate lending and middle market credit analysis required Familiarity with SBA lending programs is beneficial, but not required #J-18808-Ljbffr JCW Group
