Dental AssistantAssists in providing dental services including: preparing patients for exam/treatment; sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, mixing amalgams, cements, composites, taking dental x-rays, maintaining records, performing assigned lab procedures.Skills:1 year experience.Education: To clarify -- certification issued by NYSED is not required. (no psv required). Minimum Qualifications: 1. A four year high school diploma or its educational Equivalent, Including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 600 instructional hours at an approved school for denatl assistants; or 2. A four year high school diploma or its educational Equivalent, Including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 300 instructional hours at an approved school for denatl assistants plus six months full- time satisfactory experience as a denatal assistant performing all of the following duties: taking, developing, and mounting dental radiographs, assisting dentist at chairside, sterilizing instrument using autoclave; or 3. A four year plus one year of full time satisfactory experience as a denatal assistant performing all of the duties described in 2 above; or 4. A satisfactory combination of education and experience which is equivalent 1,2,or 3 above. However, all candidates must have at least a four year high school diploma or its educational Equivalent.
