This position requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience specifically in high acuity Emergency Department settings. Contract Details Contract Length: 13 weeks No 48-hour contracts Every other weekend commitment is required Requested Time Off (RTO): Auto approved up to 5 total days; if 5 days are consecutive, an additional week will be added to the end of the contract Licensure & Certifications The following licenses and certifications are required for this position: Active PA RN License BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Unit Overview The Emergency Department is a high-volume area with the following details: Trauma Level: Level I Beds/Bays: 51 to 60 Scrub Color: Royal Blue Patient Ratios: 1:4 standard ED 1:3 high acuity 1:2 trauma/critical care Ancillary Staff: ED Technicians Patient Population The Emergency Department serves a diverse patient population, which includes: Age Groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric Patient Mix: ~75% ambulatory/outpatient ED population ~25% inpatient boarders managed in ED Pediatric Volume: ~5% Required Clinical Competencies Candidates must demonstrate independent experience in the following areas: Airway and Respiratory Management: Breathing treatments CPAP/BiPAP Mechanical ventilation RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation) medication administration Procedural sedation Chest tube setup and care Tracheostomy care Critical Care & Emergency Experience: Trauma patients Cardiac emergencies Neurologic emergencies Medical and surgical emergencies Burn patients Behavioral health crises Pediatric and NICU/PICU boarders held in ED This position is ideal for experienced RNs who thrive in fast-paced, challenging environments and are committed to providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations.
