Position Overview

Role: Travel ICU Charge Nurse

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Intensive Care Unit

Available Shifts: Day and Night

Compensation: Gross pay ranging from $1,491 to $2,067 per week, which translates to an hourly rate of $41.44 to $57.43.

Contract Duration: 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise ICU operations and nursing personnel during assigned shifts.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments effectively.
• Guide, mentor, and enhance staff performance and development.
• Assist with performance evaluations and HR-related tasks.
• Oversee inventory, equipment, and unit preparedness.
• Coordinate patient care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Address patient care issues and escalate concerns through the proper channels.
• Engage with patients and families to promote a positive experience.
• Provide direct patient care as necessary to ensure safe staffing and quality outcomes.
• Guarantee high-quality patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING

1. Valid RN License in the state of practice
2. Current BLS certification (AHA) upon hire and must remain up to date
3. Current ACLS certification (AHA) upon hire and must remain up to date
4. At least one year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital or emergency department
5. One to two years of prior supervisory experience in an acute care hospital or ICU setting is required
