Hospitalist Physician

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 1 full-time day shift Hospitalist Physician to provide hospital medicine services to Fargo Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Job Summary Hospitalist Physicians must perform admission and coordination of all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients at our VA community located at Fargo VA Medical Center. Hospitalist Physicians are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to all individuals. Pay Rate $155.53 / hr Duties Provide evaluation and treatment, including the ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies, including laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and electrocardiographic examinations, and the administration of medications normally considered part of the practice of hospital medicine Discuss end of life preferences/ advanced care planning Consult with sub-specialists Coordinate care with patients primary care physician Discharge and ensure appropriate follow-up is arranged. Assess, stabilize and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. This includes running code teams and rapid response teams Review all admissions to inpatient hospital care recommended by Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner providers. Provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for procedures. Initiate appropriate social work referrals for all identified homeless veterans and for patients who do not have primary care providers. Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Provide notification of test results for patients Complete the appropriate QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications and outcome of examinations Document all patient care given Qualification(s) Current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia). A North Dakota Medical License would be preferable Board certification in Internal Medicine Active BLS OR ACLS DEA Registration Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience with Primary Care Physician Service Additional Information Hours of Operations: VA Business Hours: 24 hours/ 7 days a week Work Schedule: 12 hour shift 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Location(s): Fargo VA Medical Center 2101 Elm Street N Fargo ND 58102 Please note: This position is notional and contingent upon the award of a government contract.
