Forklift OperatorTAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking a Forklift Operator at our Distribution Warehouse in Phoenix, Arizona. The forklift Operator drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.Essential job functionsMove levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of the lifting apparatusUnload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting devicesWeigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedulesManually load or unload materials on/off pallets, skids, or lifting devicesLubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, and replace liquefied gas tanksPerform daily pre-operation inspection of forkliftsConduct inventory of goods/materials and supply workers with materials as neededSweep and clean designated areas in the office and warehouseTransport products to and from remote storage areasOther duties may be assignedEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED.CompetenciesJudgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.Physical Demands/Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to position himself/herself to operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or or maintain heavy plant equipment. This may require climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting and/or stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move heavier objects with assistance.While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dust and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment.
