The division creates structured opportunities for participants to develop practical skills, build professional networks, explore career pathways, and contribute to MAP's mission while gaining real-world nonprofit experience. Role Overview The Program Manager oversees the day-to-day coordination, administration, and continuous improvement of PromiseRise's internship and career readiness programs. Working closely with the Chief of Career Readiness & Pathways, department leaders, supervisors, and interns, this role helps ensure participants have a meaningful, well-supported, and professionally enriching experience throughout their time at Mentor A Promise. The Program Manager coordinates onboarding, monitors participant progress, supports supervisors, tracks program outcomes, addresses challenges, and helps build a high-quality internship program that prepares future nonprofit and community leaders. Key Responsibilities Program Coordination Coordinate the day-to-day operations of PromiseRise internship and career readiness programs Support intern onboarding, orientation, and program engagement Monitor participant progress throughout the internship experience Help ensure interns have meaningful assignments and learning opportunities Coordinate program schedules, meetings, workshops, and special events Intern Support Serve as a primary point of contact for interns throughout the program Conduct regular check-ins to support participant success Help address questions, challenges, and barriers to participation Promote professional growth, collaboration, and engagement Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Supervisor Collaboration Partner with department leaders and supervisors across MAP Support supervisors in providing meaningful learning experiences Help monitor internship goals, deliverables, and learning outcomes Facilitate communication between interns and department leaders Encourage consistency across internship experiences throughout the organization Program Operations Maintain accurate internship records and documentation Track attendance, participation, milestones, and program completion Prepare reports, dashboards, and program updates Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements Support the development of policies, procedures, and operational systems Continuous Improvement Collect participant and supervisor feedback Identify opportunities to strengthen internship programming Recommend improvements to career readiness initiatives Research best practices in internship management, workforce development, and nonprofit talent development Contribute to the long‑term growth of PromiseRise programs Preferred Qualifications Experience in program management, project management, workforce development, higher education, nonprofit management, career services, or related fields Strong organizational and project coordination skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Experience working with interns, students, volunteers, or emerging professionals is preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail Passion for mentoring and developing future nonprofit leaders Why This Role Matters An internship should be more than work experience—it should be a foundation for lifelong growth.
