Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; Every other weekend and holiday required; Patient ratio 1:5

Highlights:

• 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit in a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
• Diverse patient population including CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, radiculopathy, post-neurosurgery, and medical-surgical telemetry overflow
• Utilize continuous bedside EEG monitoring, telemetry, and bladder scanning technology
• EMR: Cerner charting system
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, lift teams, and rapid response teams
• Teaching hospital environment with preferred Level I or Level II trauma experience

Requirements:

• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Neurology experience required; CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery experience required
• Experience with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, feeding-tube care, pre/post-hemodialysis care, and renal failure required
• Surgical drain, wound care/wound VAC, oxygen administration, and isolation/PPE experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
• Basic EKG testing through Prophecy Relias required (must be completed before orientation)
• Maryland-approved trauma education required; 8 hours annual stroke CEs and 4 hours annual trauma-related CEs required
• TCRN preferred; Teaching hospital and Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred
• Willingness to float to Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units within scope based on hospital needs
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
