Job Description
Trailer Component Manufacturing, a Division of Buyers Products Company, is a growing 300,000 sq. ft. OEM trailer component manufacturer seeking an experienced CNC Operators with true machine setup experience to join our manufacturing team.
We are looking for candidates who can independently set up, operate, adjust, and inspect parts on CNC machines . Candidates should be comfortable reading blueprints, selecting and installing tooling, making machine adjustments, and troubleshooting issues to produce quality parts.
1st & 2nd Shift Available
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines from start to finish
- Select, install, and change appropriate tooling, dies, and punches for each job
- Load programs and make necessary machine adjustments to ensure proper part dimensions and quality
- Set machine parameters including bend sequence, speed, material feed, and bend locations
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and product specifications to determine proper setup
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, protractors, height gauges, and other measuring equipment
- Make offsets and adjustments to correct dimensions and maintain quality
- Troubleshoot setup or production issues and make adjustments as needed
- Work with CAD/CAM programs and CNC controls
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
Required Experience
- 2–3+ years of hands-on CNC setup and operation experience
- Must have direct setup experience — not solely machine operation
- Experience selecting and installing tooling/dies
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong understanding of bend allowances, dimensions, and tolerances
- Experience using calipers, protractors, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Basic computer and math skills, including fractions and decimals
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and make machine adjustments
- Experience with CNC controls and/or CAD/CAM technology preferred
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Technical or vocational training is a plus
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be someone who can walk up to a CNC Press Brake, understand the job, set up the machine, make the necessary tooling and program adjustments, run the first piece, inspect it, and make corrections independently.
