Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Full-Time | Salaried | Direct Hire | Batesville, Arkansas

PediaStaff is partnering with a pediatric therapy clinic and developmental preschool near Batesville, Arkansas, to find a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its clinical team. Position Highlights

• Employment Type: Full-time, salaried

• Location: Batesville, Arkansas

• Population Served: Children from birth through age 7

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, with availability between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

• Flexible Workday: Therapists must be available during designated service hours but are not required to remain at the clinic for the entire 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. window.

• Compensation: Salary based on experience and selected weekly billable hours

• Additional Compensation: Quarterly evaluation-related payments, if applicable to the role, and potential bonuses for exceeding selected weekly billable-hour goals

What You’ll Do

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you’ll work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide individualized therapy services to young children, helping them build skills for greater independence and participation in daily activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to address each child’s developmental needs and functional goals.

• Support children in developing fine motor coordination, sensory processing skills, self-care abilities, play skills, and participation in age-appropriate activities.

• Adapt therapeutic activities within the established treatment plan to support each child’s progress and functional abilities.

• Monitor children’s progress and communicate observations, concerns, and changes in performance to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Complete progress notes, service records, and other required clinical documentation accurately and on time.

• Assist with maintaining current patient records and supporting treatment plan updates as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Identify when children may benefit from additional clinical services and communicate recommendations to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Collaborate with families and colleagues through parent meetings, peer reviews, workshops, and required training.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow applicable health, safety, and clinical guidelines.

• Complete continuing education requirements to maintain professional certification and licensure.

• Represent the program professionally when interacting with families, visitors, and community members.

Compensation and Benefits

Salaried compensation based on experience, selected weekly billable hours, and weeks worked per year.

Compensation is based on the therapist’s experience level , with potential opportunities to earn additional compensation through productivity above selected weekly billable-hour goals.

Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should have:

• An associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

• A current Arkansas Occupational Therapy Assistant license, or the ability to obtain one before starting.

• At least one year of relevant experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities or special needs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• An interest in working with children from birth through age 7, including children who may be at risk for developmental delays.

• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and time-management skills.

• The ability to work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, families, and other professionals.

• Basic computer skills and the ability to complete accurate clinical documentation.

Physical Requirements

This role involves working directly with young children and may require standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling throughout the day. The position may also require frequently lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
