CDL B Driver III - 2nd shift

Truck Driver III – Indianapolis, IN We are hiring a Truck Driver III to support local deliveries and pick‑ups at our Indianapolis, Illinois facility. This position is a 2nd shift role (11am–7pm, Monday–Friday) and offers $25.00 per hour plus overtime. Desired Attributes Are passionate about client success. Enjoy collaborating with others. Responsibilities Inspect assigned vehicle per the Pitney Bowes pre‑trip inspection guidelines and procedures daily. Report any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor to be fixed immediately. Maintain a daily driver’s log or route sheet for mileage, stops and cargo, or utilization of the TMW system. Maintain pickup and delivery schedules meeting deadlines utilizing software tools. Know and understand safety and security precautions, follow company policies, and keep the vehicle clean. Ensure the mail is reviewed for proper dates, presort slugs, and that a pickup slip is attached to each order prior to loading. Ensure USPS equipment is used only for the movement of “Live” mail. Return client damaged or undeliverable mail following internal handling procedures for damaged secured mail. Use all required cell phone applications. Keep work area clean by ensuring mail bins are under machines or in APCs, plastic straps are off the floor to prevent tripping hazards, and sweeping the floors between assigned pickups or deliveries, and all other duties as assigned. Demonstrate safety and security precautions and follow company policies. Qualifications Age 21 years or older. Valid CDL Class B license, meet applicable DOT requirements. Ability to drive a CDL straight truck or equivalent. Minimum six months verifiable safe driving experience. Ability to read a map and understand directions. Understand and become knowledgeable with USPS regulations and managing standards. Ability to lift at least 50lbs., walk, stand, stoop, and bend with or without accommodations. Ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays, and shifts with little or no advance notice. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
