Job Summary
Telemetry (Intermediate Care Unit) Alton, IL. The healthcare provider will deliver care in an Intermediate Care Unit, focusing on cardiac telemetry monitoring and support for adult patients with conditions including cerebrovascular accident and dysrhythmia management. Responsibilities include providing telemetry-based assessment and care for patients with pre- and post-procedural needs, such as postmyocardial infarction and postcardiac catheterization care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 07/13/2026
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide cardiac telemetry care and monitoring
  • Support interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Provide care for adult patients, including patients with cerebrovascular accident and postmyocardial infarction needs
  • Support pre- and postcardiac catheterization and related telemetry care
  • Provide care for adult patients requiring cardiac monitoring and observation for rule-out myocardial infarction
  • Float within scope to meet facility needs
• Required Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Education/License: Missouri (MO) license/compact eligibility as required for submission; license requirements vary by state/compact status
  • Location requirement: Alton, IL
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience on an intermediate care unit/stepdown style unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown*)
• Additional Information:
  • Patient care may include adult telemetry monitoring, post CVA care after prior ICU time, and care following transfer out of intensive care
  • Weekend coverage is required every other weekend
  • On-call is required
  • Travel compliance includes a maximum of 7 days of RTO (7+ days requires manager approval, along with any holiday RTO); no new RTO after submission; no RTO allowed the first week of an assignment
  • First-timers accepted: Yes
  • Locals accepted: No
  • Must be able to float within the service line
  • Fit testing may require facial hair that allows for proper testing or the expectation to shave
