RN Cardiac Cath EP Lab

The SMH Level 4 Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab - Pre-Op & Recovery provides specialized nursing care in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. This role involves pre-procedure preparation, post-procedure recovery, and Phase I/II PACU-level care for patients with cardiac conditions including coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure. The nurse performs patient assessments, education, procedural support, hemodynamic monitoring, and moderate sedation recovery to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments and provide education related to cardiac procedures.
• Support procedural activities in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and manage moderate sedation recovery.
• Manage acute and non-acute clinical situations during pre-op and post-op phases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Provide Phase I and Phase II PACU-level care in the Holding Area.

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Cath Lab and/or EP Lab nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
• Telemetry monitoring skills.
• Experience in CVICU or cardiac care preferred.

• Recent experience specifically within Cardiac Cath and EP Lab settings.
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and moderate sedation protocols.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary cardiac care teams.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac procedural environment.
• Occasional weekend shifts required based on unit needs.
• Must maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications throughout employment.

• 40 hours per week, scheduled as four 10-hour shifts.
• Den rotation schedule with occasional weekend shifts as needed.
