Clinical Education ManagerThe Clinical Education Manager provides leadership, development, and oversight for the Hospice and Palliative Care Buffalo clinical education program, including supervision of the Clinical Education Coordinator and the Clinical Field Educator team. This position directs the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education initiatives to ensure clinicians receive the training and support necessary to move from novice to expert hospice and palliative care clinicians, and that education programming supports the highest-quality, compliant patient care across the organization while optimizing external education efforts with community partners as directed by clinical leadership.Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Clinical Education Manager:Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance management to the Clinical Education Coordinator and Clinical Field Educator team, including hiring, onboarding, and annual performance evaluations.Direct the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the clinical orientation program, in-service education, and ongoing competency development for all clinical staff.Reports to Clinical Operations, Partnering with Clinical Department Directors and/or VPs to establish the strategic direction, annual goals, and budget for the Education department.Oversee the Education Remediation referral process, ensuring appropriate clinical interventions are identified, applied, and documented by the Field Educator team.Ensure all clinical education programming meets applicable state and federal regulatory requirements, including Medicare Conditions of Participation and accreditation standards.Monitor and analyze education outcomes and metrics (e.g., competency completion, orientation timelines, remediation trends) and report findings and recommendations to organizational leadership.Develop program standards to support the recruitment, training, and ongoing management of the clinical preceptor program.Collaborate with Managers, Directors, and Providers to identify organization-wide educational needs and develop responsive programming.Oversee the coordination and execution of the Graduate Nurse Residency Program.Direct the assignment and tracking of Relias Education content and other e-learning platforms.Serve as the department's primary liaison for external education partnerships, including speaking engagements and affiliations with health-related colleges and universities.Oversee field supervisions and record reviews conducted by the Education team for clinical accuracy and compliance.Ensure adequate Education department coverage and support during periods of short staffing or increased visit demand, including coordination of weekend and off-shift visits.Collaborate with Quality Improvement on the development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives; participate in the QI workflow rotation to support evening/weekend back up.Prepare the annual report of the department's educational contributions to the community.Qualifications for a Clinical Education Manager:Education/Certification:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of New York. BSN preferred.Valid Driver's License, free of serious violations, and vehicle required for use when on duty or on-call.Experience:Preferred 3-5 years hospice and/or palliative care experience, or equivalent, required.Prior experience in clinical education, staff development, or a supervisory/leadership capacity preferred.
