The Gardens at Gettysburg is seeking a dependable Full-Time Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep, safety, and transportation needs of our skilled nursing facility. This role includes general maintenance responsibilities, painting, and transporting residents safely to appointments and outings while maintaining a clean, professional environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Shift
• Full-Time, Day Shift
• On-call rotation, including weekends and holidays, as scheduled

Key Responsibilities
• Transport residents safely to and from physician appointments, dialysis, and other scheduled outings
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the facility vehicle as needed
• Maintain facility vehicles in a clean and safe condition
• Perform general facility maintenance, including repairs to walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, windows, and painting projects
• Remove trash and assist with light cleaning as needed
• Move and arrange furniture to complete maintenance assignments
• Coordinate daily maintenance activities with nursing staff when working in resident care areas
• Assist with terminal cleaning of resident rooms following transfer, discharge, or death
• Follow maintenance schedules and supervisor instructions in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical work
• Maintain facility grounds, parking areas, and driveways through cutting, trimming, sweeping, and general upkeep
• Replace light bulbs, including exit and overhead lights
• Assist with the Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure equipment and machinery remain operational
• Respond to unscheduled or emergency maintenance needs as directed
• Participate in the on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays, as scheduled

Qualifications
• Previous maintenance experience preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
• Previous resident transportation or medical transport experience preferred
• Familiarity with maintenance tools, equipment, painting techniques, and cleaning materials
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved exemption is provided
