Account Executive, Surety - Houston, TX

About the Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Account Executive to lead our Surety strategy and grow our client base in Houston, TX. Key Responsibilities Serve as strategic point of contact for client and conduct and coordinate client services. Build and maintain effective and sustainable relationships with clients on an enterprise-wide basis. Work in the best interest of the client and the company to secure appropriate compensation for the company. Achieve new business sales goals. Positively and proactively represent American Global in meetings, seminars, trade shows, networking events, industry associations, organizations, boards and charities, as appropriate. Demonstrate proficiency in the sales discovery process (due diligence). Demonstrate strong knowledge of competitors to aid in company prospecting efforts. Build and develop relationships with centers of influence. Review book of business production reports and account receivable (A/R) reports for accuracy upon receipt, delegate follow up accordingly. Cultivate local carrier relationships to support company visibility and credibility in the construction surety marketplace. Maintain knowledge of carrier underwriting appetites and contacts and recommend appropriate markets for client programs. Analyze client risk profile and develop marketing strategy with the team and client. Compile and/or approve complete and accurate large project and program submissions and deliver to underwriters; provide timely responses to underwriter submission inquiries. Support team in response to requests for proposals (RFP). Identify the surety needs of clients and prospects. Develop and recommend appropriate products and services. Present custom solutions to clients and prospects in a clear and professional manner. Provide thought leadership, embracing change and innovation as the industry evolves. Additional responsibilities as required. Skills & Experience That Lead to Success Strong technical surety knowledge. Minimum of 4 to 8 years of industry experience. Proven ability to present and clearly explain information to clients. Proven ability to clearly explain problems/concerns to co-workers, supervisors and/or agency principals and suggest/recommend solutions. Competence in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Adobe. Ability to drive strategy. Ability to effectively promote American Global’s competitive differentiation in written and verbal presentations with goal of growing client base. Additional/Preferred Qualifications College degree preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Ability to travel locally as required.
