Job Title: Rotomold Machine Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on operating rotomolding equipment to produce high-quality molded parts, ensuring correct setup of tooling and materials, and maintaining consistent production standards in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up rotomolding tooling with the correct resin, dye, and weight according to work instructions.
• Operate molding machines and send arms into the machine as soon as they are ready to maintain production flow.
• Unload molds or tooling as required based on machine cycle times.
• Visually inspect each molded part for quality and conformance to specifications.
• Identify and reject non-conforming parts, placing them in the designated area for review or disposal.
• Ensure proper care, handling, and basic maintenance of tooling at all times to support consistent production quality.
• Trim and deburr parts after molding and place finished parts in the appropriate cart or container.
• Maintain accurate part counts to support inventory tracking and production reporting.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris to support safe and efficient operations.
• Follow all applicable safety regulations, procedures, and work instructions while operating machinery and using tools.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively as part of daily production tasks.
• Recommend measures to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency within the production process.

Essential Skills

• Experience in assembly or the ability to read and follow instruction manuals for putting parts together.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and production equipment.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools, including wrenches and screw guns.
• Ability to perform visual inspections and identify non-conforming parts.
• Capability to maintain accurate part counts and basic production records.
• Commitment to following safety regulations and safe work practices in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work on a consistent schedule, including 1st shift hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in general labor, production, or machine operation.
• Background in molding or rotomolding processes.
• Comfort working with molds, tooling, and related equipment.
• Spanish language skills, which can be beneficial for communication in a diverse workforce.
• Experience working in a clean, organized manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean manufacturing setting that differs from traditional line assembly. Instead of a single line, there are four to five stations where multiple assembly and molding processes take place. The facility is well lit, climate controlled, and highly safety conscious, with clear work instructions and organized work areas. Team members use hand and power tools, including wrenches, screw guns, and molding equipment, as part of their daily tasks. The position follows a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime work routine.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hampshire, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Hampshire,IL.
