(At the discretion of the Employer, a newly hired employee may be placed at a wage step commensurate with such employee's prior, certifiable experience. The advanced step placement shall be made at the time of original appointment)

The completed city employment application, a copy of a valid drivers license, current Ohio Peace Officers Certificate, DD214 form (if applicable) and a copy of college degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement (if applicable) must be submitted no later than 4:30pm, June 19, 2026 at City Hall, City of Columbiana, 28 West Friend Street or via email to: View email address on click.appcast.io to be considered for examination. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. Please note:
If applicant does not currently hold an OPOTA Certificate at the time of application/ Testing, a certificate is required upon appointment as a Police Officer.
Exam will be held on the following date. Saturday, July 11, 2026

Testing will be held at City Hall, City of Columbiana, 28 West Friend Street, Columbiana, Ohio 44408. You must bring a check or money order in the amount of $15.00 the day of the test along with your photo ID. (Arrive at the test location at least 15 minutes prior to test time for registration) Bonus points will be awarded to a passing exam score in accordance with established regulations.
Before hire, applicants must pass a drug screening, physical examination, psychological evaluation, a physical agility test and also complete a background release form and a credit information disclosure form. (The physical agility test will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 @9am. Location and details will be provided to applicants.
