Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing high-acuity care for critically ill neonates and supporting their families within a level IV NICU. The position requires a compassionate and skilled RN to deliver advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services in a family-centered environment. Job Details: Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, Wisconsin RN license or compact license required. Education Requirements: RN license with at least two years of acute care RN experience within the last three years in the specialty. Location Requirements: Candidates must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted. Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience. Schedule: Day/Evening 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule. Additional qualifications include experience with post-operative patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation. The role entails floating to all units, including PICU and other pediatric care areas, as needed. Responsibilities include providing care for critically ill newborns and infants requiring complex medical and surgical interventions, utilizing specialized equipment such as ventilators (including NAVA and Venti-lator management), high-flow nasal cannula, and whole-body cooling devices. Strict compliance with pass/fail testing criteria, including a telemetry exam, will be required prior to start.
