Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care is sought for a position in Omaha, Nebraska. The role involves providing critical care to patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, cerebrovascular accidents, sepsis, and other acute conditions. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Omaha, Nebraska
• Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with shifts from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700. The schedule is set by the unit scheduler, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Required Qualifications: Nursing license, minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, and successful pass/fail exam during orientation. Candidates must have a valid drivers license submitted at the time of application to verify their distance from the facility.
• Additional Information: The role involves responsibilities with ventilators (Vents, BiPAPs, CPAP, High Flow). RNs are required to interpret tele monitors and read their own strips. The ICU maintains 24/7 critical care coverage, with staffing including nurse techs (ratio 1:1 or 1:2 depending on census), hospitalists or intensivists on-site, and specialized equipment. The unit allows floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical floors. Orientation includes a system onboarding and unit-specific training during the first week.
• Schedule & Orientation: Orientation consists of 1-2 days of unit-specific training following a one-week system onboarding.
• Travel & RTO Policies: Candidates must have RTO approved upfront for 7 days or less within a 13-week contract; no additional RTO approval is available.
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs.
• Additional notes: Candidates cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the organization, including those under the brands related to CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity.
