If you are detail-oriented with a passion for patient care, this position provides a rewarding chance to contribute to high-quality healthcare services.– Perform blood draws and other specimen collections, including urine and fecal samples, while putting patients at ease and minimizing discomfort – Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to established protocols – Record maintenance data and decontamination procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards – Properly explain procedures to patients, ensuring clear communication and courteous service – Match laboratory requisition forms with collected specimens, verifying accuracy and completeness – Package and store specimens appropriately for transport, maintaining sample integrity – Follow all OSHA and DEP regulations, including wearing proper PPE – Attend annual department training sessions and participate in routine laboratory tasks – Answer laboratory inquiries and communicate results as needed – Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations– Proven experience performing blood draws and specimen collection – Knowledge of laboratory procedures such as labeling, centrifuging, and sample storage – Ability to explain specimen collection procedures clearly and effectively – Attention to detail to ensure sample and documentation accuracy – Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and OSHA standards – Strong communication skills and courteous demeanor– Certification or licensure in phlebotomy preferred; state or regional certification strongly preferred – Ability to demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles – Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting – Flexibility to work Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, with every other Saturday 9am-1pm – High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in phlebotomy preferred – Experience handling specimens and adhering to transport protocols – Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and following detailed proceduresElevate your healthcare career by applying today to become a vital part of our clinical team.
