Assess patients of all ages using a variety of techniques, including standardized tests and observation methods.
Create individualized treatment plans aimed at addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
Conduct personalized speech therapy sessions that target language, cognitive function, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers for all-encompassing care plans.
Provide guidance to patients and their families to enhance their progress outside of clinical settings.
Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless care experience.
Document patient progress with precision, adhering to state, federal, and institutional standards.
Engage in continuing education and peer exchanges to stay abreast of industry innovations.
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already certified by ASHA.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required.
Strong foundation in evidence-based practices for diverse age groups, with a solid grasp of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Capacity to modify therapy methods to address various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Robust clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical documentation practices.
