The Wellness Support Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team as a Full-time Remote Therapist. This role plays a crucial part in providing intensive in-community therapeutic services, particularly focused on supporting children aged 3 to 20 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Work Environment\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at the Wellness Support Center, you will primarily work in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility in your schedule while meeting the needs of families in Jacksonville, Florida, and across the state. Though your sessions will often take place in clients' homes or community health clinics, the position involves collaboration with a dedicated Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals. This dynamic environment encourages the sharing of insights and cooperative strategy development to enhance therapeutic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or group therapeutic sessions, focusing on tailored treatment plans that address behavioral and emotional complexities.

• Implement evidence-based strategies for anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills development to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors (SIB) and aggression.
\n
• Empower youth and caregivers by enhancing decision-making skills and effective strategies to manage behavioral challenges arising in the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate consistently and effectively with the Child Family Treatment Team, sharing insights and recommendations during monthly meetings to refine treatment approaches.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes in line with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be serving a diverse clientele comprising children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Providing culturally sensitive support, particularly to bilingual Spanish or Portuguese-speaking families, is essential to fostering trust and ensuring effective communication within this population.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Florida is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, specifically during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM) with potential weekend scheduling being advantageous.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is a requirement for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support strategies.

• Experience working with children with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with therapeutic methodologies that enhance family dynamics and support caretakers in their caregiving roles.

Compensation and Benefits\n
