Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM. Flexible contract options available for 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend coverage required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week period). Floating required as needed. No call required. Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6.

Highlights:

• Comprehensive cardiac telemetry unit with 44 beds and daily census of 41 patients
• Diverse patient population including post-cardiac surgery, post-catheterization, and complex cardiac conditions
• Experience with advanced cardiac procedures including TAVR, Watchman, CABG, valve replacements, and vascular surgeries
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Contract extensions available through February 27, 2027
• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy

Requirements:

• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• Medical-surgical, telemetry, or step-down experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted with required cardiac experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Willingness to work holidays and participate in storm/emergency response teams as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)

Clinical Focus:

• Patient diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, peripheral vascular disease, and carotid stenosis
• Post-operative care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients
• Sheath management and removal, post-catheterization care, and cardiac rhythm management
• Equipment experience includes arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, chest tubes, and pacing wires
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing and Epic documentation
