Description of Work The Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) is a section within the Division of Health Service Regulation, whose purpose is to enable and assist providers of Emergency Medical Services in the delivery of adequate emergency medical and trauma services for all people of North Carolina and to provide medical care during an emergency or disaster. This mission is achieved through both regulatory oversight and technical assistance to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) systems statewide, ensuring that the systems are in compliance with general statutes and the administrative rules of the NC Medical Care Commission. The Position is responsible for providing Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program support to the statewide projected $1B federally funded Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). The Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Specialist serves as a key member of the Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) team, providing programmatic coordination and operational support for statewide MIH initiatives. This position supports the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of program activities by coordinating contractor deliverables, monitoring program performance, facilitating stakeholder engagement, supporting contract and fiscal oversight activities, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. The position functions as a liaison among program staff, contractors, healthcare partners, and other stakeholders to advance program goals and ensure timely completion of project objectives. Knowledge of data collection, reporting, and performance measurement practices. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. We check to see that people receiving care in these facilities are safe and receive appropriate care. We make certain that medical buildings are built only when there is a need for them. About the Rural Health Transformation Program NC Rural Health Transformation Program is a statewide program led by NCDHHS to transform rural health care delivery, improve health outcomes, and ensure sustainable access to care for nearly 3 million rural North Carolinians. The program is funded over five years by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The main goals of the program are to: Catalyze innovative health care models for rural communities by changing the way providers work together to care for patients in rural NC. Transform the rural care experience, building community-based clinical, behavioral, and social supports close to home. Create a sustainable rural health delivery system through underlying systems changes in rural workforce pipelines and care team models, and rural provider financial models.
