About the HEAL DC Program:
HEAL DC - Building Healthy, Empowered, Achieving Leaders for DC is a neighborhood-based life transformation program that provides year-long wraparound care and healing support for a cohort of 10 individuals most at risk of involvement in gun violence, in some of DC’s most impacted communities. This program is modeled on successful programs like READI and Chicago CRED, and incorporates Roca’s Rewire Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT).
Job Summary:
Peace For DC is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled ethical Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical oversight to our HEAL DC program while supporting the overall clinical needs across the organization. This position ensures compliance to regulatory standards, and maintains a small caseload. This role also supports staff providing crisis intervention and case management within a community-based setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Support: Provide direct clinical services, including weekly in-person therapy to a case load of 10 program participants, individual assessments and crisis intervention. Additional support include periodic psychoeducation and therapeutic group facilitation, attend weekly interdisciplinary conferencing, provide needed clinical case consultation to program staff, coordinate clinical community response efforts, and clinical service coordination with partner agencies.
Clinical Quality & Compliance: Ensure clinical services meet ethical, legal, and professional standards. Review and approve case management service plans and progress notes. Monitor service delivery and client outcomes to ensure clinical integrity and efficacy. Work collaboratively with the HEAL DC Program Manager and organizational leadership to refine clinical workflows, policies, and protocols. Oversee clinical and case management documentation while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with HIPAA, service requirements, and best practices. As needed, review Unusual Incident Reports (UIRs) and coordinate follow-up actions and complete monthly quality assurance audits and program reporting. Maintain thorough client records while adhering to local and federal regulations governing clinical service provision and documentation.
Data Tracking & Confidentiality: Work collaboratively with Program Manager and Data Systems and Analytics Lead to develop and track key program and participant metrics in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Track daily and weekly clinical touch points and share anonymized assessment data for program monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Group Participation: In addition to period group facilitation, attend weekly life skill groups (twice weekly, 2 hours during the day and 2 hours during one evening) to provide clinical support, as needed.
Team Coordination: Serve as a member of the HEAL DC team, working collaboratively to provide each participant with opportunities for personal and professional growth. In accordance with confidentiality requirements, coordinates and communicates regularly with HEAL DC team members and external partners regarding relevant clinical observations, progress, barriers and recommendations. As a participant advocate, assist HEAL team members in understanding how participant and worker trauma, environmental needs and worker bias may affect participant engagement, behavior and individual goal attainment.
Training and Professional Development: Develop and facilitate relevant clinical training on topics such as trauma-informed care, self-care, crisis intervention, grief and loss, motivational interviewing, and etc. Serve as the staff consultant/coach supporting staff in needed clinical skill-building, participant engagement, goal setting/monitoring and participant-centered care . Ensure program staff adhere to the regulatory standards governing service delivery and provide needed clinically informed recommendations to organizational leadership
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in social work or counseling
Must be licensed in the District of Columbia and in good standing as an LICSW/LCPC/LPC
A minimum of 3-5 years post licensure experience providing clinical therapeutic and programmatic support to high risk vulnerable populations. Candidates with experience serving individuals ages 18-24, justice involved youth and/or reentry populations are preferred
Previous clinical program management, staff supervision/coaching and leadership experience, strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
Knowledge of Washington, DC’s social services landscape and community resources.
Knowledge of challenges that face transition-aged youth in Washington DC, particularly those living in Wards 7 & 8
Knowledge of evidence-based modalities and best practices in mental health and substance use treatment
Commitment to the mission of reducing gun violence and supporting at-risk individuals.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated understanding of intersectional anti-oppressive service provision
Strong background in trauma-informed service provision, community-based mental health and non-profit organizational culture
Proficiency in clinical documentation, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance.
