Position Overview This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division of a VA Medical Center in Cheyenne, WY. It is supervised by the Housekeeping Supervisor or designee and performs both janitorial and custodial services at the VA Medical Center. Qualifications and Application Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. The job element method is used to match what you can do against the work's requirements. Qualifications will be compared to the required job elements, with screening for WG-2 and higher only (screen-outs not applicable to WG-1). Applicants who meet the screening element will be considered for further rating. Details of qualifications must be supported by detailed descriptions of experience on your resume. Credit is given for paid, unpaid, and volunteer experience, including National Service programs, professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, and social organizations. A full year of work is considered 35-40 hours per week; part‑time experience is credited based on actual hours spent. Physical Requirements The position demands continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing. It requires occasional use of heavy-powered cleaning equipment (e.g., wall washers, industrial buffers) weighing over 50 pounds. The duties require considerable dexterity, hand, foot, eye coordination, concentration, and visual acuity to see dirt, dust, and debris. Working Conditions Work is normally performed indoors with adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Some work may be performed outdoors, exposing employees to varying degrees of heat, cold, and inclement weather. Personal protective equipment may be required in circumstances where exposure to potential contagious diseases, blood, or bloody secretion is present.
