Telecommunicator PositionTri-Com Central Dispatch (Tri-Com) is now accepting applications for the position of Telecommunicator. This position plays a vital role in providing first response support to multiple agencies across Kane County, IL. Duties include transmitting vital information accurately and efficiently to emergency personnel via the radio, as well as computer-aided dispatch software. Telecommunicators also answer administrative and non-emergency lines, providing quality customer service and clarity to individuals on the other line.Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:Minimum age requirement of 18 years oldEducation and experience equivalent to a high school diplomaAbility to speak clear, articulate EnglishFull range of hearing in both earsType accurately with a speed of at least 40 WPMThe position supports a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation and applicants must have the desire and ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.Desirable qualifications:Previous experience in public-safety dispatchingMulti-line telephone equipmentFast paced, computerized customer service experienceFlexibility, split ear and multi-tasking are paramountOther combinations of education, training and experience that would provide the necessary requirements to successfully conduct the duties of the job may be considered. If you have a background in customer service, are comfortable with technology, thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a demonstrated history of thinking on your feet and are meticulous about details, this may be a great position for you.
